Elcano is an online portal used by our clients to submit and track projects, collaborate with their project teams, and manage linguistic assets. This portal connects you with the Lionbridge global team of language experts, and is complimentary to clients as part of the Lionbridge service offering.
Functionality available within Elcano:
- Project Submission
Corporate Users: Customers can submit projects, request quotes, receive quotes, track the progress of their projects, and access project and financial reporting. Access and information is available 24x7 worldwide. To establish a corporate account, or log in to an existing account, go to: Elcano home page.
Individuals: To pay by credit card for a single translation, please click here to begin the process. For more on this scenario, please see Retail Translation below.
- Project Collaboration (myInfoShare)
To support clients, project managers, and linguistic professionals engaged in the translation management process, dedicated workspaces are established which allow participants to share and access project documents, reference files, contact information, discussion forums, and manage queries.
- Language Collaboration
In parallel with the Project Collaboration functions, Language Collaboration enables clients’ linguistic team members to manage their linguistic assets. This area provides ability to participate in linguistic quality reviews, Translation Memory (TM) sharing and export, and Glossary management.
- Security
For Corporate Users, all accounts are username and password-secured. Access to client documents is restricted to personnel engaged on their behalf. All password information is encrypted.
For all users, all financial transactions are submitted via SSL over secure HTTP (https) - this is established via the Digi-Sign certificate provider (www.Digi-Sign.com).
Retail Translation
Prodcedure:
Translation through Elcano follows these three steps:
1. Submit the document for translation and receive an acknowledgement mail detailing the expected delivery time.
2. The document is allocated to one of our team of professional translators with the required subject specialisation.
3. Upon completion, the translation undergoes a quality check and is returned to you by mail.
Turnaround/Delivery:
Documents under 2,000 words are completed and returned to you within five business days. An additional working day must be counted for each 2,000 words exceeding the initial 2,000. Turnaround of documents with larger volumes is generally decided upon following consultation with one of our translation coordinators.
